The Roughriders pay a visit to the Stampeders

Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-7-0)
at Calgary Stampeders (13-1-1)
Friday, 7 p.m., McMahon Stadium
TSN, CKRM

THE FORECAST: Environment Canada is calling for a cloudy day with a 60-per-cent chance of showers late in the afternoon and a high of 10 C. The wind is to be out of the northwest at 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h during the day. The evening is expected to be cloudy with a 60-per-cent chance of showers and a low of 0 C.

THE LOWDOWN: The Roughriders and Stampeders meet for the third time this season. Calgary won the first two games (27-10 at home on July 22 and 15-9 in Regina on Sept. 24) and has won 10 straight regular-season games against Saskatchewan … The Roughriders can clinch a playoff berth Friday with a victory over the Stampeders. Saskatchewan also can make it into the post-season if the B.C. Lions lose to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday … The Roughriders are 4-4-0 on the road this season. Calgary is 7-0-0 at home … The Stampeders are riding a 16-game winning streak against teams from the West Division — a run that includes seven victories this season. Saskatchewan is 3-5-0 against division rivals this season.

THE RIDERS’ ROSTER: Starting quarterback Kevin Glenn threw for 387 yards — his highest total of the season — and two touchdowns in Friday’s 33-32 loss to the visiting Ottawa Redblacks. Glenn is 148 yards short of 4,000 passing yards on the season; if he gets to that number, it’ll be the first time since 2012 that he has done so. That season, he threw for 4,220 yards for Calgary … Tailback Cameron Marshall, who missed the past six games with a knee injury, returns to the Roughriders’ lineup and will share playing time with Trent Richardson. Kienan LaFrance has been placed on the one-game injured list … Chad Owens slides into the slotback spot that normally is manned by Naaman Roosevelt, who suffered a concussion against the Redblacks. Roosevelt, however, remains on the 46-man roster. The game will be Owens’ first this season; he spent the first 14 games on the injured list and was a healthy scratch against Ottawa … National Josh Stanford comes off the practice roster and starts at wide receiver for Duron Carter, who’s slated to start at cornerback. Carter also is to get some action at wideout … The rest of the receiving corps remains the same, with internationals Bakari Grant and Caleb Holley joining national Rob Bagg … Grant, by the way, is 84 yards short of his first 1,000-yard receiving season in the CFL … The offensive line has a new look as well. Dan Clark has been activated off the six-game injured list and will play centre. That allows Brendon LaBatte to shift back to left guard in place of Derek Dennis, who has been placed on the one-game injured list. Peter Dyakowski stays at right guard and Bruce Campbell and Thaddeus Coleman remain in the tackle positions … The defensive line rotation remains intact, with Tobi Antigha, Rakim Cox, Makana Henry, Willie Jefferson, A.C. Leonard, Ese Mrabure and Eddie Steele … Weak-side linebacker Sam Eguavoen, who didn’t play against Ottawa, comes off the six-game injured list to reclaim his starting spot from Jeff Knox Jr. Strong-side linebacker Derrick Moncrief and middle linebacker Henoc Muamba return from last week, with Knox expected to get time in the middle as well … Carter takes over at corner for Chris Lyles (shoulder), who was replacing Kacy Rodgers II (leg). Elie Bouka backs up Carter … The rest of the secondary comprises corner Jovon Johnson, halfbacks Crezdon Butler and Ed Gainey and safety Mike Edem … Kicker Tyler Crapigna takes a streak of 16 straight successful field-goal attempts into Friday’s game. His success rate of 88.6 per cent (31-for-35) this season is second only to the 90.6 per cent of Calgary’s Rene Paredes … Punter Josh Bartel, long-snapper Jorgen Hus and returner Christion Jones are the Roughriders’ other specialists … In addition to Clark, Eguavoen, Marshall and Stanford, fullback/special-teamer Albert Awachie also comes onto the roster. Dennis, LaFrance, Lyles and linebackers Brandyn Bartlett and Kevin Francis all have been placed on the one-game injured list.
