Week 20 | Game Day At A Glance

Saturday, October 21st – 13th Fan Appreciation Day, presented by Capital Automotive Group

The final game of the Roughriders regular season schedule is here and it’s all about YOU, the greatest fans in the CFL! 13th Fan Appreciation Day, presented by Capital Automotive Group, is when we dedicate our game day to saying Thank You Rider Nation with special giveaways, contests, games, and much more! Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.

The Riders play the visiting Toronto Argonauts and a victory by the home team greatly increases the odds of the Green and White making the playoffs so come cheer on your Riders as they battle it out for the final spot in “the dance.”

One very lucky fan at halftime will be going home with a new vehicle courtesy of the Capital Auto Group in the Capitalville Pick 6 Vehicle Giveaway! Contest participants are chosen at each game throughout the season, and there is one more opening for a lucky fan in the stands! Be in Mosaic Stadium on gameday and you could be the lucky winner of an incredible new vehicle from Capital Auto.

This game also comes with some special meaning, as it supports our annual Cameco Riders Touchdown for Dreams program. The program fulfills the wishes of women in Saskatchewan living with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis. Past recipients have joined the team on the road, attended Touchdown Atlantic, received a lease on a new car and other wishes to provide joy to these inspiring women. Fans can support this worthy cause and help us grant more wishes through the purchase of pink blankets, which can be found here or in the Rider Store. Fans are encouraged to wear pink (and green!) to the game!

As a special offer to fans in attendance, the Rider Store is saying thank you Rider Nation with a once-a-year offer of 25% OFF the Regular Retail price of items (some exceptions apply) in store! This offer is available to fans attending the game with a ticket and lasts until the end of the game, so take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on some new Rider fall/winter gear, or maybe it’s the time to get that jersey you’ve been eyeing!

The incredibly popular Coors Light Party in the Park is on one final time this season and it’s going out with a bang! Gates open at 11:00 a.m., and features face painting, live music, a festival hair artist, inflatables and more!

$5 Domestic Beers are happening one last time this season in the park and inside the stadium until kickoff! Grab a drink with friends and celebrate Rider Game Day!

Local cover rock and dance band EPIC performs on the Coors Light Stage! Playing hits from the 60s’ to today, their tunes will have fans of all ages on their feet, ensuring everyone has an unforgettable time!

Get ready to be dazzled by the Rider Flo Dance Crew presented by Engelheim as they perform on the field during pre-game to set the tone for an entertaining afternoon!

Keep your eyes peeled as we will be doing multiple giveaways in various sections throughout the game!

Join us for Fans On the Field following the game, as players will be there to join you! There will be an autograph signing session in the northwest corner of the field with members of the 2023 Roughrider squad. Come on down and meet some of your favourite 2023 Riders!

Week 20

2023 has been a career year for several Roughriders with just one game remaining in their regular season schedule.

On offence, the receiver trio of Shawn Bane Jr., Samuel Emilus, and Tevin Jones have continued their breakout seasons and currently sit at 968, 960, and 882 receiving yards, respectively. Those totals have them in 8th, 9th, and 12th, among CFL pass catchers in receiving yards. Keep an eye out for all three on Saturday as they continue their quest for their first career 1,000-yard campaign.

Speaking of milestones, running back Jamal Morrow is also seeking the 1,000 yards milestone for the first time in his career. He needs 114 yards on the ground on Saturday and already and has two 100+ yard games to his credit this season.

On defence, middle linebacker Larry Dean became just the second Rider in history (the other was George White, 2000-01) to complete back-to-back seasons with 100+ defensive tackles. He’s added two sacks, one forced fumble, two interceptions, four pass knockdowns, and one tackle for loss for 110 total defensive plays, which ranks 4th in the CFL.

Super Mario Alford is having another strong season for the Green and White, returning 84 punts for 938 yards, 48 kickoffs for 1,122 yards and two missed field goals for 88 yards. His total of 2,148 combined yards ranks third in the CFL. Alford is second in the league with three return touchdowns, all coming on punts. He needs one more to break the Rider single season record for punt return touchdowns.
