PRO: Fields signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and played in two early-season games. He joined the Washington Commanders’ practice roster in October of 2022 and remained with the team through August 2023.

COLLEGE: A gifted multi-sport athlete at Taylor High School in Texas, he was a three-year letterman in track and field and a member of the basketball team in addition to excelling in football. He subsequently played in 54 NCAA games, starting 50 times, at Texas Tech. Over that span, he registered 224 defensive tackles (14 for a loss), four interceptions, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 45 passes defended. He earned All-Big 12 Honourable Mention recognition in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and made the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2021. During his redshirt freshman season of 2017, he scored a 95-yard interception-return touchdown against Oklahoma State — the longest pick-six in the conference that year. As a senior, he registered 50 defensive tackles (four for a loss) and a team-high 11 passes defended, and also earned an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

FAST FACT: Fields ran the 100-metre dash in 10.52 seconds while attending high school in Taylor, Texas.
