#RidersTC Social Wrap- Day 2

SASKATOON–Day two of Training Camp saw drill-speeds dialled up to whirlwind heights again, much to the enjoyment of one of Riderville’s fast-emerging leaders in defensive-lineman, Shawn Lemon.

Lemon missed parts of yesterday’s workouts with standard training-camp maintenance, fully active and engaged in every minute of today’s practice.

“I feel amazing today”, Lemon explained to the local media in a relaxed, yet purposeful demeanour.

Of course, a new energy and attitude is omnipresent at camp: All-black trucks for the coaching staff, paired with Chris Jones’ signature attire to match; but within-the-lines, Lemon, amongst others, have noticed the efficiency expected in everything the Roughriders do.

“It’s a good speed for us. If we practice like this, every day, just continue to get a little bit better, competing against one another. Understanding that the CFL game is going to come down to those last few minutes. It’s all about how you finish the day.

It’s a dream-fit for the former Ottawa RedBlacks stand-out, who prides himself on the time it takes for him to get his job done: getting the ball back into the hands of quarterback Darian Durant.

“Just playing fast, being all over the place. Just go out and run, that’s it,” was the veteran’s response when prompted about his fit within Jones’ pass-rushing schematics.

Chris Jones’ defenses are renown league-wide for a reason: results.

Lemon’s like-minded attitude hinted that this new-look Roughriders defence will start the year off causing plenty of havoc for opposing quarterbacks all season-long

“He’s a football mastermind. Surround yourself with guys that are proven winners in this league and you always continue to win.”

Day three of Riders Training Camp, presented by Coors Light kicks off at 9 a.m. at Griffiths Stadium, with workouts running until approximately 11:30 p.m.
