Roughriders Extend Long Snapper Jorgen Hus

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed long snapper Jorgen Hus to a two-year contract extension.

Hus (6’1-230) is a career Roughrider, playing all of his 131 career CFL games in Green and White. Considered one of the league’s best at his position, Hus has also logged 21 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery in his career.

In 2023, Pro Football Focus (PFF) logged Hus with 48 snaps to the punter that were under 0.9 seconds, tied for the second most in the CFL. Hus was one of the two long snappers in the league this season that recorded zero bad snaps on field goal and extra point attempts and was named a Second-Team PFF All-Star.

He is currently the longest tenured Rider, having been with the Club since 2015 when his rights were acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Elks. Prior to his time in the CFL, the Saskatoon native spent time in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.

Collegiately, he played three seasons at the University of Regina (2010-12) as the team’s long snapper but also lined up at linebacker. In 23 collegiate games on defence, he made 35 tackles and blocked one punt.
