Saskatchewan Roughrider defensive lineman John Chick has been named the CFL’s Gibson’s Finest Defensive Player of the Week.
In Sunday’s 33-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Chick had two quarterback sacks, one special teams tackle, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
In the five games he has played this season, the Utah State product has tallied five quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles, three defensive tackles, two fumble recoveries, one pass knockdown and one special teams tackle.
This is the first player of the week award for Chick who joins teammates Chris Getzlaf and Stevie Baggs on the list of Rider recipients so far this season.
