Vision Statement

We are champions and leaders of positive change in our communities!

Mission Statement

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation empowers youth and communities through the passion of Rider Nation.

As a successful foundation, we value the relationship and collaboration we have with the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club and the following values:

  • Integrity – Maintaining truthfulness and morality
  • Collaboration – Listen to, learn from and partner with donors and beneficiaries to address their needs
  • Accountability – Provide stewardship for funds entrusted to us, while taking ownership of our decisions and being responsible for our actions
  • Respect – Showing consideration and honour in all interactions
  • Excellence – Generate and allocate funds effectively and efficiently in service to our community

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation will support our three main community pillars: Amateur Sport, Health, Education:

Below are a list of community programs which benefit from support of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation!

Rider Reading Month

Teacher-driven program that aims to make reading fun by encouraging teachers to use our brand to “Rider-ize” their reading. Teachers who show us how they are doing this, and how their kids are having fun while reading, are entered to win a player appearance. Through building an association between our brand and daily reading, the aim is to have kids enjoy and maintain positive feelings towards reading.

Canadian Red Cross

Education programs delivered by trained Player Educators/Ambassadors in Saskatchewan schools with a focus on Healthy Relationships, Bullying Prevention and
Youth Psychological First Aid.  A strategic focus will be Indigenous communities and youth.

To date, the program has reached close to 20,000 students in 84 schools within 54 communities province-wide. Help us continue to expand this important program!

Amateur Football: Player student scholarships for Rams, Huskies, Thunder and Hilltops.

Football Saskatchewan Partnership:
The Club continues to focus on grassroots football. Most notably is flag football leagues in Saskatoon and Regina, the Northern Sask Football Jamboree in La Ronge, and Pass, Punt, Kick.

Northern Sask Football: Programs such as the Northern Sask Football League work to ensure that all financial barriers are removed to maximize the number of kids who can participate, and it is a co-ed League meaning both males and females can play. The continued growth of these northern communities ensures more youth are active, giving them a hobby which would help avoid unhealthy decisions, and allow kids to stay active in their own communities rather than having to travel in certain circumstances long distances to be able to participate in football

Grow The Game: Introduces the game of football to non-traditional football demographics. This program kicked off with a flagship event at Mosaic Stadium where all students at the five North Central Regina schools were invited to come learn football and meet their Rider heroes. This program is destined to expand across the province

Riders & Dream Community Fund: Funds are donated each year to minor football capital projects across the province.
Projects such as lockers, sound systems, benches, etc.

KidSport: We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. This program provides support to children and removes the financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Community Granting Program: Small grants will be provided to community charities and not for profits who meet the criteria under the Foundations pillars.  Details to come.
