PRO: Johnson was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round, 174th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in the Cardinals’ 2019 season-opener against the Detroit Lions (catching five passes for 46 yards) and went on to play in 10 games that season, starting in four. As a rookie, he caught 21 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown — a nine-yard scoring strike from Kyler Murray versus the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 31, 2019. In eight games in 2020, Johnson caught 15 passes for 173 yards and made one start. In 2021, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and spent the regular season on the practice roster before dressing for one post-season contest. He went on to spend time with the 49ers and Atlanta Falcons before joining the Buffalo Bills’ practice roster in 2022.

 

COLLEGE: Johnson spent four full seasons (2015-18) at Fresno State, playing in 51 games. He caught 275 passes for 3,463 yards and 24 touchdowns over that time. Beginning in 2015, he registered receptions totals of 37, 66, 77 and 95. As a senior, he earned Second-Team All-Mountain West recognition for the second straight year and became the Bulldogs’ career leader in receptions and receiving yards. In 2018, he was fourth in the NCAA in catches (95) and sixth in receiving yards (1,340) while making eight TD grabs and exceeding 1,000 yards the second consecutive season.

 

FAST FACT: As a senior, Johnson passed Davante Adams and became Fresno State’s All-Time receptions leader. Johnson finished his NCAA career with 275 catches, 42 more than Adams.
