Vitale takes on a new role with the Green and White in 2024 after spending the 2023 season coaching the Roughriders’ offensive line.

Vitale showed great adaptability in that capacity, with nine different starting combinations lining up last season along the offensive line due to long-term injuries to three starters. Nonetheless, the offensive line helped Jamal Morrow reach 907 rushing yards on the season.

Prior to joining the Roughriders, Vitale was the Offensive Line Coach with the Edmonton Elks during the 2022 season and helped the team produce the third-most rushing yards per game (102.4 yards) in the CFL.

Previously, Vitale served as the Offensive Line Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Eastern New Mexico State for the 2021 season after spending two seasons at Delaware State University as the Offensive Line coach. At Delaware State, he helped improve an offensive unit from last to second in the MEAC in rushing offence and reduced the number of sacks by 60 per cent from the 2017 season.

Vitale is no stranger to Green and White as, from 2017 to 2019, he was a guest offensive line coach for the Roughriders at training camp, assisting with drills, practice planning and film breakdown.

He spent six seasons at Southwest Baptist University as an offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator, helping the team improve from 1-10 in 2013 to 10-2 and a national ranking of 17 in 2016. He coached eight student-athletes to all-conference honours and one to All-American honours in his time with the Bearcats.

He spent the 2012 and 2013 season as an offensive graduate assistant and assistant offensive line coach at Lindenwood University and was the offensive line coach and video coordinator at Notre Dame High School from 2000 to 2012.

Vitale holds a bachelor of science degree in business and an MBA in finance from the University of Redlands.
