I auditioned for the Rider Cheer team again to continue dancing along side many of my best friends and such an amazing group of girls! Being a part of Rider Nation is such an amazing experience and I’m so excited to be back cheering them on!
The 2024 Home Opener was my favourite memory because the energy of the crowd, the excitement of performing with my team, and the incredible atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience!
A bit more about Mercedes
Mercedes was raised in small town Hanley, Saskatchewan. She started dancing at her aunt’s dance studio (Studio One) at the age of 3, where she trained in a variety of different styles. She made her competitive debut with a ballet solo at the 4 years old choreographed by her auntie Tammy. From there she has competed in various competitions and conventions throughout Canada and the United States. She even performed with Studio One in the 2018 Walt Disney Parade!
Mercedes has also had the opportunity to be apart of the O16 Electric Crew dance team with the NLL Saskatchewan Rush for the past two seasons and plans on returning.
She is in her 3rd year at the U of S Edwards School of Business. She dreams of utilizing her education to own and operate her own business.
When she’s not dancing, she likes to stay busy – either at the gym, hanging with friends, or making space for self care.
She currently works at Dakota Dunes Golf Course as a server and at Studio One as an administrator and substitute teacher. In addition to work and school, she runs a small side business offering lash extensions and spray tans – a fun passion project in the beauty industry to ease into entrepreneurship.
