I decided to audition for the Rider Cheer Team this year because I missed being on a team where the pure goal is to just dance your hearts out and support each other while doing it! Also, it is a privilege to be a part of the electric game day experience! I am most excited to be so close to the action & cheer loud! Also, to make lifelong friendships, dance on the big field, & meet all of Rider Nation.
A bit more about Melissa
Melissa was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and loves the small-town feel of the city. She has been dancing for as long as she can remember and says that teaching dance has been the biggest blessing on her journey. She has learned many lessons through out and got to witness the of the growth of many young people. Her favourite class to teach are the tiny tots – they hold a special place in her heart.
Aside from dance, she is finishing up a degree in Health Studies and is a certified yoga teacher. She’s also an aspiring ‘van life’ adventurer that loves nature, hiking and being in the mountains.
