PRO: Ray was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round (25th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He had 20 defensive tackles and four sacks as a rookie. Most notably, he registered two tackles and a forced fumble to help Denver defeat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in the 2016 Super Bowl. He followed up with 46 tackles, eight sacks and a fumble-return TD in 16 games during the 2016 regular season. Ray had 16 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble in eight games as a third-year NFLer. Then came a 2018 season in which he had one sack in 11 games with Denver. He signed as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens on May 17, 2019, but was released on Aug. 30 of that year. After being out of football in 2020, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts on Feb. 6, 2021. He had four defensive tackles in three games with the 2021 Argonauts. He added a tackle and a sack in the 2021 Eastern Final against Hamilton. In 2022, he had six sacks and two forced fumbles in seven regular-season games with Toronto. Ray returned to the NFL in 2023, trying out for the Buffalo Bills. He auditioned for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.

COLLEGE: Ray played 40 games over three seasons (2013-15) for the University of Missouri, tallying 120 tackles, 19 sacks, 35 tackles for a loss, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery (which he returned 73 yards for a touchdown). In his junior year at Missouri, he was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous All-American selection before he declared for the 2015 NFL Draft.

FAST FACT: On Jan. 27, Ray became the 20th NFL first-round draft choice to sign with the Roughriders.
