PRO: McEwen was selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the first round (third overall) of the 2015 CFL Draft. His first eight CFL seasons were split between the Argonauts (2016-19) and Calgary Stampeders (2021-24). Over that time, he earned three All-CFL selections (2017, 2021, 2022) and four divisional All-CFL nods (2017, 2021, 2022, 2023) while playing in 132 games and starting in 127. In addition, he was the East Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2017, when he also helped the Argos win a Grey Cup. In 2024, McEwen played and started in 17 games for the Stampeders and was part of an offensive line unit that allowed the second-fewest sacks in the CFL. His strong play also earned him the Stampeders’ nomination for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman — the sixth time he received that award from his team. With Toronto, he was named the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie (2016) and Most Outstanding Canadian (2017, 2018).

COLLEGE: McEwen played in 40 games over five seasons (2011-15) with the University of Calgary Dinos, helping them win three Hardy Cup championships. He was named a Canada West All-Star on four occasions and was a First-Team All-Canadian in 2014 and 2015 and a Second-Team All-Canadian in 2013. He was also one of just three Canadians invited to take part in the 2016 East-West Shrine Game.

FAST FACT: McEwen also played basketball and competed in track and field at Calgary’s Notre Dame High School.
