PRO: Thompson Jr. was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He subsequently spent time in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams. With Seattle, he suited up for one regular-season game — on Oct. 22, 2023 against the Arizona Cardinals.

COLLEGE: Thompson Jr. played five collegiate seasons (2018-22) at Texas Tech. He recorded 2,664 rushing yards on 540 carries over 50 games. He is third in program history in rushing touchdowns (40), fourth in total touchdowns (41) and seventh in points scored (246). He was a three-time All-Big 12 selection. As a rookie, he led the Red Raiders with 765 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. The latter total ranked him third in the conference. As a senior, he rushed for 684 yards (eighth in the conference) and eight touchdowns. He was sixth in the Big 12 in rushing yards per game (52.6). In 2022, he received All-Big 12 Honourable Mention recognition and was invited to participate in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and Reese’s Senior Bowl.
