COLLEGE: Harper played in 12 games with the University of Illinois last season, recording 50 defensive tackles (two for a loss), three pass deflections and one interception. Prior to suiting up with the Fighting Illini, Harper spent three seasons (2020 to 2022) with Jacksonville State University. He had a standout first season as a Gamecock, leading the team with 92 defensive tackles (three for a loss) and three interceptions en route to being named an Associated Press First-Team FCS All-American, a FCS ADA All-American, an AFCA First Team All-American, a HERO Sports First-Team All-American, an All-OVC First Team Safety, the OVC Defensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award (given to the best defensive player in FCS. Despite suiting up for only nine games in 2021, Harper finished third on the team with 54 defensive tackles (three for a loss), two interceptions and a fumble recovery, landing him a spot on the ASUN All-Conference team. He transferred to Louisville for the 2022 season and played in five games, registering seven defensive tackles, including one for a loss.

FAST FACT: In addition to starring on defence at Carver High School in Atlanta, Harper was a tight end — and an accomplished basketball player.
