2024: Sayles scored a 46-yard interception-return touchdown on July 4 against the visiting Argonauts … seven defensive tackles (one for a loss) and two pass knockdowns, Aug. 8 at Ottawa … late-fourth-quarter interception, Aug. 22 at Toronto … third interception of season, Sept. 1 vs. Winnipeg … tied career high with fourth interception of the season, Sept. 28 vs. Ottawa … two pass knockdowns, Oct. 12 vs. B.C. … named to divisional and league All-CFL teams … interception in West Semi-Final, Nov. 2 vs B.C.

 

2023: As a member of the B.C. Lions, Sayles registered 38 defensive tackles (three for a loss), one fumble recovery and seven pass knockdowns in 18 regular-season games. In two playoff games, he had seven defensive tackles and an interception.

 

PRO: In 2017, Sayles signed as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills, who released him in September. He spent the final part of that season on the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad. Following his release by the Rams, Sayles signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and dressed for 34 games over the next two seasons, registering 136 defensive tackles, six interceptions (two of which he returned for a touchdown), five forced fumbles and two sacks. He was named a West Division All-Star in 2019 and capped off that year by recording a team-high six defensive tackles in the Blue Bombers’ Grey Cup victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2020, he was released from his contract by the Blue Bombers to pursue NFL opportunities. He spent most of the 2020 season on the Minnesota Vikings’ practice roster. In 2021, he joined the Lions and registered 52 defensive tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 13 games. He followed up in 2022 by being named a CFL and West Division All-Star after recording 68 defensive tackles and a career-high four interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

 

COLLEGE: From 2013 to 2016, Sayles started in 46 games for the University of West Georgia. Over that time, he set a school record for blocked kicks in a career (13). As well, he recorded 123 total tackles, 12 interceptions and 24 pass breakups.

 

FAST FACT: Sayles blocked seven kicks as a junior at West Georgia in 2015.
