2024: Hunchak made his debut with the Roughriders on Sept. 28 in a 29-16 victory over the visiting Ottawa REDBLACKS. He had signed with Saskatchewan earlier in the week.

 

PRO: Hunchak was selected by the Calgary Stampeders in the eighth round (74th overall) of the 2019 CFL Draft. A member of the Stampeders from 2019 to 2023, he caught 65 passes for 606 yards in 35 games over that span.

 

COLLEGE: Hunchak played four seasons (2015-18) at York University and had a significant impact on the Lions’ offence. He recorded 1,990 total yards and 18 touchdowns over 27 games. In his senior season, Hunchak set school records for receptions in a season (63) and a career (167). After making the OUA All-Rookie team, he was a second-team conference All-Star in 2016 and 2018.

 

FAST FACT: Hunchak won a silver medal with Team Canada at the under-19 world championship in Kuwait in 2014 and also represented his country at three consecutive under-19 International Bowls in Dallas.

Hunchak was teammates with Stamps defensive back Nick Statz at Calgary’s Notre Dame High School. Hunchak was a three-time provincial all-star with the Pride.
