The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American wide receiver Geronimo Allison

Allison (6’3-202) comes to the Roughriders with six seasons of NFL experience. Allison signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft playing in 41 career games, including 14 starts, over four seasons in Wisconsin. He made his NFL debut in Week 8 and caught his first career NFL reception – a four-yard touchdown from Aaron Rodgers. Allison tallied 89 career NFL receptions for 1,045 yards, with an 11.7 yards per reception average, and six touchdowns.

Collegiately, Allison played two seasons at the University of Illinois (2014-15). He posted 106 career receptions for 1,480 yards, a 14 yard per catch average, and eight touchdowns as a member of the Fighting Illini. As a senior, he was named an All-Big 10 Honourable Mention and his 65 receptions ranks him 8th all-time in the UI record book. Prior to transferring to Illinois, Allison attended Iowa Western Community College where he helped his team win the 2012 NJCAA National Championship with a perfect 11-0 record. In 2013 he was named Second-Team Junior College All-American and First-Team All-Midwest Football Conference.
