Game Day At A Glance

August 6th – Welcome Back, Welcome Home – presented by Mosaic

Rider Nation, the wait is FINALLY over, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders can’t wait to welcome fans back home and “Bring ‘Em Out” for the first time in more than 600 days in front of a sold-out crowd at Mosaic Stadium. Here’s some key points to watch for!

The team, led by Head Coach Craig Dickenson, have been hard at work last month getting ready for this incredibly special Home Opener and are just as excited as the fans are to be back. Kickoff for our first game of the season against the B.C. Lions is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

We have some special moments planned to acknowledge and honour all of what we have gone through over the last year-and-a-half. With that in mind, fans are asked to be in their seats by 7:15 p.m. for special pre-game ceremonies.

It has been a while since Rider Nation could come together at Mosaic Stadium, so to ensure the game day experience is an enjoyable one, the Roughriders have instituted several changes to game day operations, including new safety and cleanliness measures for the 2021 season:

Your phone is your ticket! Digital ticketing has arrived to make it easier to manage your Rider tickets and can be accessed by downloading the Rider App, powered by SaskTel, on a smartphone. Tickets can be easily transferred to someone else or added to a digital wallet for quick access to the stadium on game day. We strongly encourage fans to download the Rider App and their tickets onto their smartphone prior to coming to the stadium.  We also have helpers available outside each gate before the game to assist those needing additional support and a full FAQ and tutorial is available at Riderville.com.

The Club has also moved to a clear bag policy for all Saskatchewan Roughrider games in 2021 and beyond. This process will allow for faster entry into Mosaic Stadium and quicker screening at entry points by stadium security. Each fan, including children, can bring in one clear bag sized 12” x 6” x 12” or smaller. More details on the clear bag policy can be found here.

Not Feeling Well? We appreciate that a return to Mosaic Stadium is an exciting thing for all of us, but at this time we ask you to stay home if you are feeling unwell on game day. Please click here for a list of COVID-19 symptoms.

Enhanced cleaning measures will also be noticed across Mosaic Stadium, especially in high traffic areas such as doors, bathrooms and counter tops where specific custodians will be assigned for frequent cleaning. Other enhancements include more than 200 hand sanitizer stations and upgraded air filters in indoor spaces such as the Capital Auto and Thrive Wealth Suites, AGT Lounge and Harvard’s Studio 620 on the west concourse.

The Sask Health Authority has partnered with the Club to bring vaccines to wherever you are, like the Home Opener! For fans looking for a convenient opportunity to get their shot, a vaccine clinic will be onsite in Confederation Park, just outside of Mosaic Stadium, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  First and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be available.

Whether you travel to the stadium on four wheels or two, there are options available! The bike valet opens at 5:30 p.m. on game day. It is stationed near the south end of Confederation Park and is staffed by volunteers through REAL. The bikes are inside a fenced compound that is monitored throughout its hours of operation.

In addition, Rider Transit presented by WorkSafe Sask is back! Free transit is available from various locations across the city (Southland Mall, University of Regina, Warehouse district, the Delta Hotel, Victoria Ave and Scarth Street) starting two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff time.

Without question, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are thrilled to return to a sold-out crowd and to have the Sea of Green return to Mosaic Stadium. Welcome back, welcome home.
