Riders Add Okine, Dearborn to Practice Roster

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced the following roster moves:

ADDED TO THE PRACTICE ROSTER

  • International defensive lineman Earl Okine
  • National defensive back Jacob Dearborn

Okine (6’7 – 280lbs) joins the Saskatchewan Roughriders after most recently playing for the AAF’s Orlando Apollos. The Florida native spent time with several NFL teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts where he played three games. Prior to the Colts, Okine played 16 games in the Arena Football League recording 22 tackles and five-and-a-half sacks. He also had a brief stint with the Calgary Stampeders. The 29-year-old attended the University of Florida where from 2009-2012 he recorded 27 tackles, one sack, and one blocked field goal.

Dearborn (6’3 – 201lbs) returns to the Roughriders after attending training camp with the Club in 2019. He was initially signed by the Roughriders in May of 2019 after going unselected in the 2019 CFL Draft. Dearborn spent three seasons with Carleton University. Last season with the Ravens he played eight games, earning eight tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery, two knockdowns and an interception.
