Riders Add Two Linebackers

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed international linebackers Louy Compton and Deion Pierre to the roster.

Compton (6’2 – 230) signed with the Riders after spending the 2017 season at Utah State.

The 22-year-old Compton originally played two years at Ellsworth Community College through the 2015 and 2016 seasons where had 89 defensive tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 22.5 quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles. He was named 2016 National Junior Conference Athletic Association Second Team All-American and 2015 Second Team All-Conference as a freshman.

He spent last season at Florida Atlantic University as a redshirt transfer.

Pierre (6’2 – 227) joins the Riders after spending four seasons at Samford University. The 23-year-old registered 108 defensive tackles, four knockdowns, 1.5 quarterback sacks and one interception in 44 collegiate games for the Bulldogs.
