Montreal Alouettes (3-13-0)
at Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-7-0)

THE FORECAST: Environment Canada is calling for a sunny day with a high of 5 C and increasing cloudiness in the afternoon. The evening is expected to be clear with a low of -4 C.

THE LOWDOWN: The Roughriders and Alouettes are to meet for the second (and final) time in the 2017 regular season. Montreal won the first meeting on June 22, when Tyler Crapigna’s missed field-goal attempt on the final play allowed the host Als to prevail 17-16. That was the Als’ third straight victory over Saskatchewan … Montreal has lost nine straight games, including Sunday’s 43-16 defeat at the hands of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats … Saskatchewan is coming off Friday’s 30-7 victory over the host Calgary Stampeders — a win that clinched a playoff berth for the Roughriders … The Alouettes are 0-7-0 on the road this season. Saskatchewan is 4-3-0 at home … The Roughriders are 5-2-0 versus East Division teams in 2017. Montreal is 2-7-0 against the West this season.

THE RIDERS’ ROSTER: Kevin Glenn will start at quarterback despite being pulled after just two series in Calgary. Glenn completed one of three pass attempts for 19 yards against the Stampeders and was sacked twice before being replaced by Brandon Bridge … Glenn is 129 yards short of 4,000 passing yards for the season. If he gets there, it’ll be the first time since 2012 that he has done so … Tailback Cameron Marshall, who played against the Stampeders, is on the 46-man roster, but head coach-GM Chris Jones said Wednesday that Marshall won’t play. As a result, Trent Richardson and Greg Morris will split time at the position. In his third game with the Roughriders, Richardson rushed nine times for 52 yards against Calgary — his highest total with Saskatchewan to date … Chad Owens makes his second straight start at slotback in place of Naaman Roosevelt, who has been placed on the one-game injured list with a concussion. Owens led the Roughriders in catches (five) and receiving yards (78) in Calgary … Duron Carter is slated to get some playing time at both cornerback and wide receiver. He’s to be backed up at receiver by Josh Stanford … The rest of the receiving corps remains the same, with internationals Bakari Grant and Caleb Holley joining national Rob Bagg … Grant is 31 yards short of his first 1,000-yard receiving season in the CFL … The starting offensive line returns intact from the game in Calgary, with Dan Clark at centre, Brendon LaBatte and Peter Dyakowski at guard, and Bruce Campbell and Thaddeus Coleman at tackle. Derek Dennis, who missed the game in Calgary, is on the 46-man roster for Friday’s contest but he’s listed as a backup … The defensive line rotation featuring Tobi Antigha, Rakim Cox, Makana Henry, Willie Jefferson, A.C. Leonard, Ese Mrabure and Eddie Steele gets an addition in Antonio Longino … Weak-side linebacker Sam Eguavoen has been placed on the one-game injured list with a concussion, so Jeff Knox Jr., is to make his second start in three games at that position. Knox joins returnees Derrick Moncrief (strong side) and Henoc Muamba (middle) in the starting linebacking corps … Carter had two tackles and a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown in Calgary, where he was making his first start at corner at any level of football. But Kacy Rodgers II, who missed the past two games with a leg injury, returns to the lineup at corner … The rest of the secondary once again comprises corner Jovon Johnson, halfbacks Crezdon Butler and Ed Gainey and safety Mike Edem … Crapigna takes a streak of 18 straight successful field-goal attempts into Friday’s game. Punter Josh Bartel, long-snapper Jorgen Hus and returner Christion Jones are the Roughriders’ other specialists … Jones, who returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown in Calgary, has two punt-return TDs this season. He’s one shy of the club record set by Willis Jacox in 1991.
