Riders Add Three to Defence

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that international linebacker Jake Doughty, international defensive back Tyree Hollins, and international defensive lineman Lee Pegues have signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contracts were not released. 

Doughty (6.0 – 234) signs with the Riders after attending 2014 training camp with the Green Bay Packers. The 23-year-old Utah State product saw action in four preseason games, collecting eight tackles. He originally signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in May, 2014. 

Hollins (5’9 – 190) joins the Green and White after spending four seasons at Grambling. The 24-year-old Louisiana native played 37 career collegiate games, totaling nine interceptions for 147 return yards. As a senior, Hollins registered 72 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles, and fumble recovery.

Pegues (6’2 – 291) joins the Riders after attending 2014 training camp with the Chicago Bears where he saw action in four preseason games. The 23-year-old originally signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent in May, 2014. 

Before going pro, Pegues spent four seasons at East Carolina where he played 43 career collegiate games.
