Roughrider players and staff took to the ice on Saturday in Yorkton in game 1 of the 2nd annual Rider Pride Hockey Challenge presented by SaskCanola. A spirited effort and a lot of hard work in the corners enabled the Green and White to win 10-3 over a large collection of Yorkton Minor Football association associates. Led by Stu Foord with two goals and four assists, the Rider Priders were just too much for the football coaches to handle and skated off with their first victory of the tour. The town was very appreciative of the Club coming out in the off-season to help raise funds for their football field, specifically the construction of a washroom/change-room facility on site. The organizers figured they'd made between $5-7,500.00 from the event which began with an autograph session prior to the game.
