Offensive tackle Belton Johnson of the Saskatchewan Roughriders has raised $1,800 with his parties (Belton's Playground) this year.
The parties were held after every home game this year to raise money for three charities as well as his church back home in Mississippi.
The three charities included Jesse's Journey, Juvenile Diabetes, and Canadian Breast Cancer Research. He gave $500 to each charity and $300 to his church Morse Chapel A.M.E. Zion.

Offensive lineman Marc Parenteau joined the staff and students of Thomson Community School on Wednesday, May 27. Marc delivered a presentation as part of the Greenzone Sustainability Blitz, which is presented by Environment Saskatchewan, the City of Regina and SARCAN in partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the CFL Players Association. Students from kindergarten to grade eight gathered in the school gym for a high-energy presentation. Interactive activities involved students against teachers in an effort to provide everyone with strategies to reduce their water and energy use and their waste output. Marc challenged the students to take action in their own schools, homes and communities.
Grade 5 and 6 students enjoyed a follow-up workshop which focused on the importance of water in the functioning of our brain, lungs, bones, muscles and blood. Students were involved in small group activities and learned some surprising facts about the percentage of water within various parts of our body.
