The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football club has confirmed that defensive end Stevie Baggs has agreed to a contract with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.
Baggs was named a CFL West Division all-star this past season after tallying a league leading 12 quarterback sacks, 55 defensive tackles, five special team tackles, five pass knockdowns, four tackles for a loss, two fumble recoveries and one interception in all 18 regular season games.
“We are extremely happy for Stevie and wish him the best in this opportunity,” stated Riders head coach Ken Miller. “However we are sorry to see him leave the Green and White after having such a strong performance with us in 2009.”
Baggs originally signed with the Riders in September of 2008.
